Bengals beat State Champs!

The Varsity Field Hockey team upended the Maryland 4A State Champions,
Springbroook, 4-1 in the season opener. Megan Hanagan scored a hat trick
with 2 goals in the first half and adding a third in the second half.
Heather Babcock also added a point to the scoreboard. Strong offensive
support was provided by senior co-captain Jen Hagan and junior
Samantha Hanagan.

The backfield was held down by junior Rachel Schexnayder,
senior co-captain Rebecca Mondonedo, and senior Liz Hoff manning the goal.
The team attributes their winning effort to off season work as a team:
participating in off season leagues, club teams, and attending a team camp
together. Blake field hockey team is very excited about the season ahead and
hopes to report more success as the season progresses.
